Presentation of paper at prestigious international ERSCP-EMUS conference in Istanbul
Two Charles University Environment Center staff members attended the prestigious 16th Conference of the European Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (ERSCP) & the 7th Conference of the Environmental Management for Sustainable Universities (EMSU) held in Istanbul, Turkey, from 4 June — 7 June, 2013, where Dr. Jana Dlouhá presented a paper on transformation in the education of environmental economics in its historical context, using a case study from the University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic.
MOSUR contribution to 6th Living Knowledge Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark
Dr. Jana Dlouhá from the Charles University Environment Center delivered a presentation on an analysis of stakeholder interaction in sustainability in regional issues and conflicts with a focus on the role of scientists during the Living Knowledge Conference in Copenhagen on 9-11 April 2014. The conference theme was An Innovative Civil Society: Impact through Co-creation and Participation.
Interdisciplinary conference: What's happening in environmental research and education at universities?
The results of environmental and sustainable development research undertaken at Prague universities were presented at an interdisciplinary conference staged at Charles University’s Science Faculty on 25 September 2013.
This was the first conference organised as part of the “Prague Universities’ Framework Agreement on Cooperation in the Environmental Field” which seeks to strengthen cooperation and share information relating to research and education in the environmental field at universities, as well as the University Teachers’ Forum (a wider and loose association of university teachers and institutions in the Czech Republic aimed at progressing the debate on education for sustainable development). The Charles University research programme (linking seven university departments) called PRVOUK “Environmental Research” was also presented at the conference.

What's happening in environmental research and education at Prague universities?
An interdisciplinary conference of the University Teachers' Forum and the Framework Agreement of Prague Universities on Cooperation in the Field of the Environment.
The conference programme is focused on exchanging information on current events in environmental research and education at universities, and a brief presentation of these trends within the wider academic community.

Transdisciplinary Research on Sustainability in Europe conference outputs
The Charles University Environment Center (CUEC) extends a very warm thank you to everybody who participated in the Transdisciplinary Research for Sustainability (TDRS) conference held in Prague on 23 & 24 May 2013, and helped make it such a success, especially those who contributed key note presentations and posters. CUEC and the Schumacher Institute for Sustainable Systems are now working together on the conference follow-up and hope to make the key conference outcome - a list of transdisciplinary research policy recommendations for the European Commission's DG Research - available very soon.

This one and a half day workshop invited approximately 50 experts from across the EU area who are working in TDRS. This event will be hosted by the CONVERGE EU FP7 research project and Charles University Environment Center together with the COPERNICUS Alliance. The conference language is English.
RCE World Conference in Kerkrade, Netherlands
The staff members from the Charles University Environment Center attended the 6th Regional Centre for Expertise World Conference in Kerkrade, the Netherlands, from 20-23 November 2011.
Successful end to international RCE workshop and conference
A successful start has been made to establishing a Czech Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development.
The MOSUR-sponsored two-day international RCE workshop and conference staged at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (UJEP) rektorat assembly hall in Ústí nad Labem on 9 and 10 February 2012 attracted over 40 participants. Czech attendees came from as far afield as Ostrava and České Budějovice, while international guests came from the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Israel to discuss current regional sustainable development issues in the Czech Republic, examine the options for forming the first Regional Centre for Expertise in the Czech Republic, and share experience from existing RCEs.
International Seminar to establish a Czech RCE
The Charles University Environment Center and the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP) are preparing an international seminar for 9 & 10 February 2012 to support the establishment of the first Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development in the Czech Republic and the first in the former communist bloc outside Russia. The seminar will be held in conjunction with a meeting of the MOSUR project partners and will be hosted by UJEP. A range of international speakers from the European RCE community has been invited to discuss the RCE concept and the practicalities of establishing an RCE, including, among others, Dr Maik Adomssent from the Leuphana University of Luneburg, Dr Clemens Mader from the University of Graz, Jos Eussen from RCE Rhine-Meuse, and Dr Zinaida Fadeeva from the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies. The seminar is currently in its planning stage, but all interested parties, including other European RCES, and potential Czech RCE stakeholders/partners are encouraged to attend.
